When there is an appropriate medical indication, the cost of a consultation at our Genetic Consultation Clinic is generally covered by health insurance (and in rare cases by Disability Insurance [IV]).

A referral from your treating physician is helpful. If possible, please send any relevant medical records to us before your appointment.

If you are enrolled in a primary care physician model (Hausarztmodell) or another special insurance plan, you must follow your insurer’s requirements. In most cases, a referral is required. For specific information about your coverage, please contact your health insurance provider directly.

Whether additional costs for genetic laboratory testing will be covered is discussed during the consultation and clarified with your insurance provider if necessary.
