Rare disease diagnosis - a new way of living
Did you know that around 350,000 children and young people in Switzerland are affected by a rare disease? This brings great challenges for the affected families: parents who are at the edge of their strength, siblings who are short-changed, financial worries, and often isolation and struggles with insurance companies. In order to confidently accompany these families on their new path in life after the diagnosis "rare disease", the non-profit Association for the Support of Children with Rare Diseases (KMSK) was founded on 20.2.2014 by the entrepreneur Manuela Stier .

Founded in 1943 as a research funding institution, the Swiss Academy of Medical Sciences (SAMS) acts nowadays as a bridge builder between science and society.
It is financially supported by the federal government and collaborates with private foundations.
SPHN – Swiss Personalized Health Network
SPHN - Swiss Personalized Health Network (SPHN)
The Swiss Personalized Health Network is a national initiative under the leadership of the Swiss Academy of Medical Sciences (SAMS).
In collaboration with the SIB Swiss Institute of Bioinformatics it contributes to the development, implementation and validation of coordinated data infrastructures in order to make health-relevant data interoperable and shareable for research in Switzerland.
